Scott Ashenden

number11

"Good morning everybody........"
Hi, dunno who remembers Scott Ashenden, but he made his debut at the same time as Steve Brown, around when Collymore joined (I think he missed a sitter in Collymore's debut).

I notice one of my opponents in the Borough Comb div one last year was a Scott Ashenden...just wondered if he was the same bloke? how the unmighty have fallen if so...

He used to play for Whitecaps, along with Steve Brown, when they were youngsters. I had the pleasure of marking them! And look at me now.....

Yeah i remember Ashenden, we also had a player come through the youth ranks along with Brown called Neil Rowbury.

Didn't Steve Brown score a goal away at Bristol Rovers?

Yes could well be the same Scott Ashendon, as he has floated around the local sat league scence for a number of years.

He was a great prospect back in the day and scored bags of goals in the youth team and reserves when we were playing teams of the standard like Arsenal, Tottenham and chelsea.

not sure where it all went wrong as he would of walked into our team in the 98-04 era .

I suppose it was a case of over looking our local players when we were paying outrageous wages to some donkey forwards from abroad!!

Yeah, think Steve Brown made a better fist of his career, think he had spells with Lincoln and Col U before drifting out....not even sure where Ashenden went after us....probably was him I playing in Div 1 of Borough comb as not exactly a common name!
