A team that needs a win to stay up. They'll go for it and leave gaps at the back.
Then again if they're thinking of their 2 weeks in Magaluf then their minds will be elsewhere!
Shrewsbury needed a win to stay safe and they battled us off the park (and were very tight at the back). Seeing as we're carrying knocks and injuries I'd rather play a team where their minds are already on holiday. If we can play the game at our tempo and on our terms then I think we'll have too much for them.
I think in reality though it doesn't really make much of a difference for SUFC, we'll still make lives difficult for ourselves I'm sure.
If Port Vale fail to beat Walsall tonight then Bury are safe. Which would you rather play? A team with nothing to play for who are in League One next season regardless of result or a team fighting to keep their place in Legaue One?
The problem with a safe team is they could play with freedom and confidence, knowing they have nothing to lose. They would also be buoyed by the fact that they could derail a promotion push, alas I bring you Morcambe. We all know how that ended up! You just know that a Danny Mayor or Vaughan could turn up and hurt us, the latter having done it more than once to teams this season.
They won't need a win even if Port Vale win tonight. A point would be sufficient given the variation in their goal differences. Trying to break down a side who come to park the bus, is sadly not one of Blue's specialities.A team that needs a win to stay up. They'll go for it and leave gaps at the back.
Then again if they're thinking of their 2 weeks in Magaluf then their minds will be elsewhere!
Vale well done !
