How terrible has the atmosphere been over the last few home games!

Not just the last few games, I posted this back on the 5th December:-

'The other plea I would make is, for those who do come tomorrow night, please, please let's get behind the team. To be honest I've felt that the last couple of games the support from the terraces has dropped right off. It is so disheartening to hear chants started and then fizzle out so quickly. On Saturday I turned round in W block to see a sea of faces behind me just seeming to stare blankly into space, eventually we got a bit of a chant going for a few minutes and, lo!, we scored. Not saying that the chant got the goal but it can't have hindered. We are on a run which is record equalling so

PLEASE, PLEASE, LET'S GET BEHIND THE LADS AND SHOW WE CARE TOO!!!!
'

And that was before we ended our unbeaten run.

Plenty on here moaning about the performance on the pitch but the performance in the stands hasn't been much better to be fair. I think most accept that crowd support helps bolster the players and that their performance helps to get the crowd going and this creates a virtuous circle; unfortunately this also works the other way and can create a vicious declining spiral. The only way out of this spiral is for it to be broken, now this can be achieved by the players on the pitch, the crowd being more vocal or a combination of the two. I think the time has come for those who care to stand up and be counted, we're in the best position we've been in for some time to get out of this division, if we don't let's not be it allowed to be said that it was because the support wasn't there.
