Duel (1971) (TV)

As much as I'm loath to say it, it has to be Spielberg doesn't it?

Well I went for Fincher. Spielberg makes entertaining films, but I genuinely only love 6 of that list, and 3 of those were made before 1981. He'll **** this, but I really rate Fincher.

Alien 3 was almost a great film until the studio cocked it up, Se7en and Fight Club are both defining movies of my generation and I just think his films have that 'something special' about them. But I won't have any qualms about Spielberg winning this one; I just hope he doesn't walk the whole competition too easily...

Spielberg gets my vote on the strength of 'Duel' alone...Awesome film!

you could randomly pick the Spielberg output from either the 70s, 80s, 90s or 00s and it's still beat Lynch. Se7en and Fight Club were great, Zodiac was a missed opportunity and the rest are rubbish

Spielberg. Helped create Hollywood with his mates Lucas and Coppola.

ET, close encounters, saving private ryan, jaws, the list goes on...

Got to be Speilberg. The sheer volume of work and commercial success means he's the run away leader in this tie.

He might not appeal to the purists in the latter stages though.

GO STEVE!
