what a t%&t, Mertons no better for putting Southend in. Such a lame excuse. Because Mayo didnt turn up in a f%&king helicopter to turn on a transmitter and becuase he had to wear ladys leathers to do a wing walk.

Neither of these reasons has f%&k all to do with Southend, utter knob jockey.

Phillp Schofield comes from Newquay, another seaside town, why does he hate Southend so? Newquay has a world renowned surf beach, Southend doesn't. Newquay enjoys a huge tourist influx every summer, Southend doesn't. Newquay has a council that spends money on the town to make it attractive, Southend doesn't. Newquay doesn't attract several hundred w%&kers in lowered Micras and fiestas every saturday night who act the p%&*k all night long and haven't the imagination, to try somewhere different once in a while, Southend does. Newquay is the dogs knackers at night, Southend most definatly isn't. Southend has Southend United, Newquat doesn't

Absolutely right as usual SW!

I love this town because it's my home town and I love it 'despite' all it's faults...and it's faults are many. However the fact is if it wasn't my home I may view Southend as a bit of a s%&thole.

Wherever my life in the future may take me, wherever in the world I may end up living (and there are a couple of options that may lead to taking my family to live in some pretty amazing places) Southend-On-Sea will always be my favourite. But I can perfectly understand why non-Southenders wouldn't agree with me.

I have on outlined my personal feelings for Southend which has been slowly going down hill for several years. Im not from Southend granted but Southend is my team and Southend has two of my favorite pubs (Spread Eagle for remaining a good old fashioned boozer and The Sun Rooms for being weird and wonderful) but sadly the town is on a downward spiral. Money is not being put back into the town and because of that it is suffering. A sad fact im afraid.

Yes he did
