Ronnie Moore on Southend

Sorry if someones already mentioned it:

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore told BBC Radio Merseyside:

"Southend won't be easy. They are a big strong side and they are always a good side at home.

"They're a good side from set-plays because they're the land of the giants. The whole back four are six-foot plus. "It just about going away, doing the right things and coming away with a result."

errrrrrr no. We are a poor side from set pieces Ronnie. The good thing is he clearly hasnt watched us much. Would agree though that we are now big at the back and with Dorothy at the back we look much stronger. 2-0 win for us i think.

Probably saw the Chelseas games and saw score from set pieces. But given that Herd and Harding have played LB for the vast majority of the games this season I can't see where he gets that Back 4 comment from, unless he watched the Bristol Rovers game and has assumed we will line up the same....

We should take copies of this thread, wave them at him, and start singing "You don't know what you're saying. No stop nicking that hub cap."

Ronnie Moore always talks total bollocks about us I seem to remember. When he was in charge of Oldham he constantly bad mouthed us.

Clearly he needs to sack his scouts if he thinks we're any good at set pieces at either end.

To be fair, the back four that played against Bristol Rovers wasn't exactly lacking in the height department was it? If you add to that Francis on the right hand side, and JFC in the middle of the park, then yes, we have plenty of height in our side.

Only trouble is, we're just not very good at using it!

Exactly. This season's squad is the biggest and most physical that we've had under Tilly by far.

Unfortunately they are not the most talented we've had.
