Ron Martin An Apology

Flinty

Not a member⭐🦐
Just though i would start the thread so that those that need to can voice their apology and it can easily be identified by the club instead of lost in numerous threads.....:)

I won't apologise, until strikers are brought in, the club have had a shambles of a week on the PR front! I never slated the fact we didn't sign him, i slated the fact we didn't sign anyone!

J, the transfer window lasts a whole month, we won by a large margin and you are still moaning. It was not desperate we bought a striker in today and it is important we wait for the right man.

If we do not buy any striker this transfer and then get relegated because of it then I will come back on here, beg your forgiveness and grovel to your immense knowlegde.
How about I bet that even though we haven't signed a striker before today we will not get relegated.

Edit: J I have just seen your post on another thread and I see you have eased slightly on your views.

I still think the club probably announced the signing early due to fan pressure from such sites as this as if Walker's signing hadn't been announced today and he had eventually signed it would have been a whole weel of moaning before he eventually was announced. (obviously if his condition wasn't discovered)

I still think we will compete and get to the level we belong (which unfortunately I am not sure is even getting in the playoffs as I think there are quite a few teams better then us, Leeds, Carlisle, Swansea, Forest Donny just to name and a few with a few more pretty similar)

The way I see it as long as we compete for the rest of the season and build for next season, with Tilly and Ron at the helm I am confident we will go up.

P.S I am still confident we will sign a striker in this transfer window who will shoot us to Champions League Glory by 2010.

And just for the benefit of Murkey Mouse I have signed Fallon on FM08 and we have definately missed out there as he got me promoted.

I will bet a steak meal with TB, the loser gets it.

No need for the prick.. was there? I am saying, this week was very poor, and so was the way the clarke situation was handled.. as it still stands, there is no striker that has signed.. and for once, that is indeed a fact!

Why do people need to apologise to Ron Martin just because we won 4-1 today, or because it was revealed that James Walker has a heart condition?

I'm struggling to see the link personally. Me, and the majority of others who were annoyed and frustrated yesterday were so because we falsely announced the signing of a striker 7 days ago, which simply wasn't the case. Just because we own 4-1, or just because his medical condition is that of an irregular heart beat do not alter that fact, so no, absolutely no need to apologise to anyone.

I said it yesterday, and I will reiterate it again today, it was an act of desperation last Saturday on behalf of RM coming out 30 minutes after Tilly had asked for his assistance in the transfer market, and announcing to the world we had signed one player, and was confident another of even great value would arrive very soon.

And if we're going to be really picky about this, then the medical condition which is preventing Walker from playing for the next 3 months WAS known about by the club, and by Walker, and has been for the past 5 years or so.

I wish James Walker all the luck in the world with his condition, and I hope he manages to find a way to control it, and continue his footballing career, and maybe he will get the chance to do so with us, which would be an added bonus.

I also think the boys today did a sterling job today, and got a very decent result, albeit against an already beaten side in Bournemouth. They, and Tilly and Brush, deserve all the credit in the world for winning today, and hopefully this will show an upturn in our poor form of late. Hold my hands up, I didn't think we would win today, let alone 4-1, i had it down as a banker 0-0!!

None of that, however, alters what I previously said - The club had a PR nightmare this week, and at the same time, should not have allowed themselves to get into this situation whereby we had only 1 available striker for today. We got away with it, perhaps with a bit of luck, and perhaps with a lot of hard work and endeavour, but Tuesday is a different kettle of fish, and regardless of todays result, we still desperately need 2 strikers bought to this club, and very soon too. Lets all bask in todays glorious result, but lets not allow it to paper over the cracks - the squad needs strengthening, and quickly, if we have any serious ideas about being involved in the promotion shake up come May... But apologise? I don't think so matey

I'm not sure that apologies to RM are needed but I think a little perspective is needed by a lot of people on this site.

I'm not saying RM is a saviour or perfect but without the backing of someone with money and (for a business man) integrity we would be in the same position as Luton and B'mth etc.

Everything at SUFC could be running 100% and people would still find something to moan about. The better things are the pickier people become. We are the supporters and we do have a right to expect our team to try hard and live up to our expectations, but if we are informed of too much too soon we risk losing the advantage over the other clubs. If T&B and RM tell us of their plans they tell everyone. Does this really need to be said? Some of you don't seem to understand the basics of running a business; that's what SUFC is. A business.

I'm sure there will come a time when there is something huge to complain about but this is not it. Calm down and get grip.

Ron Martin an apologie

I think those people who want to get rid of T&B ought to apologize.
As a long time Blues fan i am quite happy where we are at the moment, if we are lucky enough to make the playoffs and stay down in the process then that will be an achievement in itself,in my opinion i think we went up far to quickly last time .
A gradual process is always a good thing.
Lets face it who in the top half of the Championship is going to come to SUFC on Tilly's salary(paycut) and help SUFC progress as much as Tilly has with the resources he has at his disposal.
So lets be patient and let Tilson,Brush and Ron Martin do what they can, whilst we sit back and watch some good football.

The thing is, theres a grain of truth in every rumour as they say.

Why has a heart condition this bad with Walker only just come to light??

Also makes me wonder why any of his other 5 or 6 loan clubs didn't take him on a perm deal, perhaps they knew of this problem.

Charlton must have been rubbing their hands together at us paying £200K for him.

As i've said on a different thread, (edited)

For heaven's sake, TTK, read the WHOLE statement. This irregular heart rhythm has been well documented. What has changed has been the medical opinion about how significant it might be. As it happens I have a similar condition, I have been checked, and it doesn't even stop me diving - and guess what? I have never taken any "substance" but alchohol. Do be careful of the allegations you make.

it hasn't just come to light. if you read the statement rm put out he states walker had this problem when he was like 13 then again at 18 (roughly). they thought it was gone but obviously not.

Agree with that 100%. If only a lot more people had this point of view and were prepared to speak out against the idiotic element of the support who expect and demand instant success!
