Blue tinted optimist⭐🦐
Good article, double spread.
Salient points:
Blues still owe £4.4m to Delancey. RM not worried and we don't pay rent, discussions about which are ongoing.
He is striving to buy Delancey out and hopes negotiations will reach a satisfactory conclusion quickly, with further developments soon.
Plans for Fossets Farm wwill not be submitted until the Delancey situation has been finalised. RM says if he had his way the plans would have been in last October!
RM still committed to moving to FF as it is the only way the club can grow and introduce non football related income to the club. Stadium plans will be for 14000 capacity with an option to increase to 22,000 if we get into the Championship which is where RM thinks we belong.
Roots Hall being redeveloped is a no-no if SUFC want to succeed at a higher level. Quote - "...anyone who thinks this club could compete in the Championship and stay at Roots Hall is sadly mistaken."
(Hmmm... suppose we want to stay a league one and two club... does that mean we can stay at RH and survive? Just a thought...)
Also he was hoping for the Centre of Excellence to start bringing players through now we are in a higher league as we can hopefully attract and retain better players.
Declares the club has never been in a better position and the future is looking bright.
