So Aslam is not the lion we need in Lg 2 and Percil may be a washout and not up to 46 games at this level. An apparently 'fit' Fagan cannot be trusted to pick the pockets of Lg 2 defenders consistently. It takes how many games and training sessions to determine this?
If they are not up to the mark then replace them with other triallists and cast the net again. Something is beginning to smell to me and for once its not the RH toilets.

I know we would love it to be something gone horribly wrong so we can all predict doom and disaster- however it is almost certainly this. We have a certain squad size and budget- PB has to juggle does he offer them a contract now, will someone better become available eith as a trialist or as in most cases not a trialist, will someone better become available on loan. He doesn't want to lose these to as an option, but wants to keep his options open. There comes a point when he has to make a decision or risk losing them and not finding someone better.
What is key in all this and we dont know is who else he is talking to and who else is on the radar. To me it all seems very normal.
Getting bored of all the panicking and scare mongering going on yet again. We always take ages to get players in every summer and everyone on here always panics. Yet we've competed in this division every season.
Chill out we'll get some players in when everything falls into place
Whilst others have organised their squads earlier and gained promotion, don't know about you but I want OUT of this division not to just competeGetting bored of all the panicking and scare mongering going on yet again. Agreed that other teams always seem to get their squads together earlier than we do. But to be honest i think we need to accept that every year there's gonna be at least one team thats better prepared for the season than we are. In the last few years there's been a lot of clubs coming up from the Conference with decent financial backing like Crawley and Fleetwood that have first picking with the top players in the division. Other times there are sides that have dropped down from League One and retained the bulk of a squad which although got relegated is probably good enough to challenge at our level. This is why we're always rated as outsiders for promotion with the bookies.
Lets face it, we haven't got a pot to **** in or Fossetts Farm would be built by now. I'm not saying I'm not as frustrated with it as the rest of you but as I said its the same every summer so why the surprise?
The thing we do have in our favour this year is we've managed to retain the key players of a side that went very close last year. We usually lose our player of the year and anyone with a bit of ability. This year we've lost Straker, who was in and out of the side, and he's been replaced by Weston. Other than that we've released players that most were in agreement were past the best.
I suppose it would have been comforting to still have Freddy for example on the books so that if you looked at the squad now we aren't so desperately short of striking options. But the season doesn't start tomorrow and PB felt Freddy's wage could be better spent elsewhere. That could be from a late freebie signing or a loan player and those kinds of transfer are usually done very close to the start of the season. Its not ideal preparation agreed but its the way we do our dealings at the mo.
