Agree totally, whether or not you agreed with his political views he was one of those politicians you have to admire for having strong beliefs and sticking by them.

In a world of slick PR and spin doctors he was indeed, as ORM poins out, one of a rare breed of politician.
 
Indeed, RIP - 59 is no age to go, and on the side of a mountain... how awful for his wife.

Not completely sure about his ethical foreign policy, but a giant of a politician in terms of the political midgets that infest our public life now.
