Let's see if we can get this sorted ie have a clear picture of where we all stand(or sit) on this issue!
Is RM 1) the messiah who'll eventually take us to the promised land of FF?
Or 2) is he just the latest in a long line of property developers and dodgy business like Vic Jobson and Anton Johnson before him who only have their own interests at heart?
3)Do you prefer to sit on the fence and see what happens/feel we don't have enough information to decide/genuinely don't know etc

FFIW I'm firmly in the number two camp.

Gone for option 3 at the moment, however in the space of 6 months he has gone from the messiah to a very very naughty boy in my opinion.

The next 10 weeks will be pivotal in whether he goes back to the messiah, or is firmly routed in the dodgy developer catagory.

1. The stadium was due to be started by the end of the year, will it happen?
2. Will any more debts come out of the woodwork?
3. Will there be any players coming in during January?
4. Will Tilly be able to carry on and at least keep us in mid-table to at least plaster over the gaping cracks in the club.

Looking at the voting options available, you appear to view anyone who doesn't think Ron is either the Devil or the Messiah as being unable to make up their mind. The reality of course is that Ron Martin is somewhere inbetween.

How about a "Ron is a shrewd businessman looking after his own interests, but also those of SUFC" option. Until then I guess I'll have to abstain.

Funnily enough I nearly included "can't make up my mind" in Option 3!
I take your point but a fourth option on the lines you suggest would have made a snap poll result difficult to evaluate.As it is a lot of people would seem to have gone for your abstain option if you check the difference between the number of voters and the much higher number who have just veiwed without voting.

I'd like to have seen another option, maybe something like "Ron is a property developer but will still take us to FF before selling the club", or something like that. I know that is too long but Ron isn't really a black/white character... unless you count the b/w photo that accompanies his statements.

I don't think ANYONE has said that Ron is the messiah and has never done wrong, but I just feel that he is still in credit with many people for past actions and we feel he can take us through this turbulent time and out the other side in better shape. There are no facts - only conjecture, supposition and guesswork - to suggest otherwise.

So what do you suggest then? You clearly think anyone who has been at the helm has been a crook. You can't put RM in the same bin as Anton Johnson that's just stupid.
Are you going to run a business and make a few quid then take us over then, or would you prefer to just slag off anyone else that tries.

Imo Ron Martin is a victim of circumstances with the withholding of money from the banking sector. Having said that,his cavalier use of the truth has left me wondering about him, put it this way i would not buy a used car of him. So its 3 for me and wait and see.

No.3 for me. I'm clinging on to the belief that RM has got everything under control & I've generally been pro-Ron so I don't want to be a turncoat now. But I must admit the silence from our superbly thatched leader lately has jaded my enthusiasm. Ok he paid the bill somehow but why a stoney silence ever since? Its all a bit of a worry..
