RIP Terry Pratchett

I wonder if it was of natural causes or if he decided (due to his illness) that it was time for assisted suicide?

As the man put it himself in one of the Discworld series: DON’T THINK OF IT AS DYING, said Death. JUST THINK OF IT AS LEAVING EARLY TO AVOID THE RUSH.

Sad news indeed - absolutely loved his books when I was younger. Admittedly, probably haven't read one in a decade but Dad and I used rattle through them in turn.

Seem to recall Wyrd Sisters was the first one I read and Moving Pictures was my favourite.

Very sad news and he was quite a big ambassador and an advocate for dementia -bringing to the forefront this terrible illness

Very sad news indeed, I doubt there are many of his books I haven't read. He is often portrayed as a solely comic writer, however, this does him a disservice, as he was simply a brilliant writer, full stop. Sad to think we won't be hearing any more from the world and characters he created.

41 Discworld novels alone - I doubt I've read more than 10 :stunned:

Just checked and the only one I haven't read is 'The Amazing Maurice and his educated rodents'. If you haven't read it, my favourite was 'Interesting Times', which was superb. I also really like the Tiffany Aching series. His last book (as yet un published) was in this series, although as he was well aware of his condition, I imagine it may be an extremely bitter-sweet read, written as he approached the end.
