RIP ex Blue Colin Flatt

The Official Southend United Pilot⭐⭐🦐
Heard the news this week that Ex Blue Colin Flatt passed way. RIP Colin.
He did not feature that much for us and only scored a few goals for us.
However I remember seeing Colin score 2 goals for us At Tranmere Rovers away match, we won 2-1.
What a hero that day Colin 🫶👏👏
Many years ago now, can,t remember when, It was Easter next match was Top of the table Stockport County where we lost.

The 2-1 win at Tranmere was on Friday 24th March 1967. Next day at Stockport we lost 4-1 (Tony Bentley scoring), and then on Monday 27th we drew the home game with Tranmere 0-0, and I was at all three matches. In those days teams played three games in four days over the Easter holiday!

It was January 21 1967, the day after my birthday when CF's gift was a goal at the Ealing Road end of Griffin Park to put us ahead against Brentford in the middle of a turgid time for Bees fighting amalgamation with QPR!
