My fellow season ticket holder partner and I have come to the conclusion that this song was the death of us last season. We have refused to sing to it and just sit quietly when it comes on and we are always joining in.

I say BAN RING OF FIRE, it is a northern thing and hasn't brought us any good luck.

I cant stand it and dont join in either. Glad I am not the only one. There are much better songs and chants than that.

I think some of the others create a better atmos as they get a response from the away fans and create the banter that goes along with it.

Can prompt a smile or two at some of the words/phrases used aswell.....Unlike "Ring Sting Of Fire"....

It was only played over the speakers once yesterday and to be fair it got a few people in the south upper going but if im honest im not a lover of it and dont think it will be heard as much this year...hopefully!

You couldn't have been at Barnsley for the FA cup replay last year then. It was amazing, went on for the whole of the second half with a conga around the stand too. That good the Barnsley supporters clapped us at the end. Tilly , the boys and Ron Martin came over and applauded us like i have not seen before.

Most chants/songs have their place. Same thing happened at Southampton last season with great escape i think it was, amongst others...all a blur.

Right song/chant, right place, right game and they work. Sometimes though its just never quite the same next time around.

Maybe we need a new song to replace "ring of fire"?
Maybe "Moulin Rouge" for the Blue Belles at half time?

and for quite a while at southampton away last year. Even though we lost 4-1 that was won of the best second halves i have never watched. Just jumped around and sang ring of fire for most of it!

yep. after watching walk the line my mum got the best of johnny cash. a really good album but when ring of fire i comes on i can't help but think of terrible performances and 3 goals conceded a game. i think it should be left to liverpool et al
