Manager⭐
I loved to watch Ricky when he was at Southend. He is one of my all time favourite players.
It was not just that he was a great player but he had a swagger that just made you smile.
He had an enthusiasm that just made you will him to score or put in an amazing cross as he often did.
Any way here is an interview he did that shows you the man behind the footballer. It is very long an hour in fact, but I found it fascinating.

A (black)guy who came to repair our computer a few years back reckoned he grew up with Ricky Otto in South London.Talking about RO's teenage exploits really made my day, despite the bill.

Ha ha, you've been had there.

Otto was an East London boy. Hackney born and bred, played for Haringey and Orient before moving to Southend.

How much extra did you have to pay for the repairs?

Awaits usual back-tracking

Defiantly one of my favourite players growing up watching Southend,I remember a game at Derby late 1993 when Fry was manager,Ricky just ripped them too bits.He came too visit my brother when he was very ill in hospital and was great too him and my family.

Remember that, think we won 3-1. The performance that day must be in the top 5 , of best ever away games.

Bloke swore blind that he lived on the same estate as him in Lewisham.
He brought up R.O's name not me, when I mentioned that the "repair" concerned fixing some glitches I'd had installing Blues Player and told him what it was.

As for the cash, a little bit more than I would've had to pay for a Spanish/Catalan IT technician here in SC, but I specifically wanted someone who spoke English. At least he got BP up and running.:whistling:

Otto didn't do as much in his career as either Collymore or Eastwood did but as an electric talent he's not far off of those two, IMO. He was definitely one of my favourite players as a kid.

That goal against Barnsley was one of the best I have seen live:
