Ricketts Injured

According to the OS, Ricketts is injured and is likely to be out for 2 weeks. I havent seen him play yet but from what ive heard he isnt exactly fit right now and to be out for 2 weeks with the season only round the corner is a massive blow.

We HAVE to get another striker in now imo.

From what I've seen and heard so far from supporters of some of Ricketts' other teams, this man is desperate for a pre-season. Two weeks out right now could be a serious setback. If we're to see the Ricketts of old, we need to see the one that is fit, fierce and firing on all cylinders!

Yes, this COULD be a massive blow.
Let's hope it isn't.

Yep, bad news.

Tilly MUST double his efforts to get someone in now - even if it means paying slightly more to secure his man.

I'd be more than happy to see Agogo arrive tomorrow now - then is it too greedy to see Robinson follow suit?

Goater wasnt fit preseason either, and missed the first games up until Walsall away. Look how he turned out

Even so, I think the point is we dont want to go into the first championship games with Freddy and Lawson upfront?! No disrespect to Lawson, who I think has been excellent pre-season...

Ricketts hasnt had a decent pre-season in ages so this was his chance to get fit, knuckle down and hopefully return to his former self but now he's out for 2 weeks its going to be tough for him. Mentally it must be a big blow for the bloke aswell, just when he thinks this might be his chance to get fit he goes and gets injured!

Most of the fitness work has already been done, by this stage pre-season is about getting the football out and playing again.

Its a big blow but with Lawson & Bradbury in the squad and money on the table for Agogo I'm not too worried yet.

However surely the main fitness work has been done now? All the running up hills and across sand dunes is done, I'd have thought, in the first few weeks of pre-season. We are now only a couple of weeks away from our first league game and I'd have thought we were settling into a normal training routine. Of course the fact that he's injured is a blow but he should still have got a decent pre-season in already?

True - although he was probably fitter than Ricketts anyway

Ricketts does definately look like someone who needs some fitness and a decent workout... but a 2 week layoff sounds like more of a precaution than anything, so he'll probably still be doing some work in the gym (rowing or something should be ok with a dodgy achilles?)
