Reserves progressing

As we could see a few leave and may need to rely on frees and loan deals, what reserve/youth players could make the step up to make the bench or even compete for a first team place.

After looking at a few posts on a Grays forum, Duran Reynolds looks to have had an impressive loan period.

Crawford could be a good player next season.

Any others or is it too early for them to make the step up?

Julian Okai is going to be dangerous on the left. Fantastic little player IMHO. Very speedy and tricky. Likes to change it round, sometimes he'll beat his man 3 times over and take a shot, or he will just pick out a dangerous cross.

Not sure he's ready for the first team this coming season, maybe give him another year in the reserves.. but my god, I love watching him play football. One of the more exciting prospects we have.

Maybe we should give hinm a game saturday and see how he fairs against real opposition in what is in effect a nothing game

Judging by the fact were rock bottom of the league and loose every single game bar Stevenage at home I would suggest not too many players are ready to make the step up.

Me against boys some of which are just 15-16 years old. The reserves are a joke this season. The youth team at there own level are decent

From the games iv seen this season am hoping none of them. The only one worth anything was Crawford and we taken him on full time and we all seen why

I haven't seen anything from him yet that would suggest that he has a future in professional football. I'm not saying that he's done anything wrong, but he certainly hasn't wowed me in his brief appearances to date.

Is that not because other teams have actual reserves and we play our U18's in our reserve games?

Which players from the youth team did we bring on away to the Gills in the fa cup.

If Duran Reynolds has had a decent loan at Grays then maybe he might a look in in the future.

Asante and Okai, IIRC.
