Thought I'd put this on here 'early ', so it doesn't get lost in the melee of Saturday/Sunday postings .

Anyone else up for it ? A few guys on here live in Ipswich I think . Could they suggest a decent pub for a meet up before ?

Saw Ipswich reserves last year and they had some decent players , so could be a good match

Well, I live in Ipswich, of course. But being a Shrimper, when I do go to football it's to watch our Blues and not the Suffolk variety. Therefore suggesting a good venue for away fans is difficult. Um, maybe Mannings in the market square as that's easy to find.

I'll definitely be going now though. Thanks for pointing it out CC51DAS.

i think that's the pub we wanted to go in before the match last year but it was home fans only ?

sounds like a good bet this time
 
Yep, Mannings is best bet, right in town square to the right as you look at the town hall. Decent Adnams ale - their Basic Bitter, Broadside and current landlords special is Summer Lightening (Broadside wins in my view). Was there this lunchtime! A much better pub now its smoke-free, you can now see where you are going inside.

We should get in on the night - can't imagine there will be security like there woz in March when I couldn't even get into the pub I drink in during the week just cause I loathe Tractor Boys.

So, from this post it seems we have three SUFC fans living in Ipswich with one more to come. Every Friday lunchtime at 1.10 pm I suggest a meet-up at Mannings to discuss the weekend footie. Would make a change to have to listen to 'when we won the cup in '78' and all that cobblers.

I presume Mannings is open all day - I am going to aim to get there about 5.30
 
Should be an interesting match tomorrow night and I am wondering who he will pick . Presume Foran and Hooper will get a run out - Chasmac is injured I think, and I doubt they will risk Leon C .Maybe Zoltan will get a start ?

But most of all I'm looking forward to seeing the MOOOOOOOOSE , Peggy ? and Electric Eric .

Anyone in the know ?
 
I went to the game at the Hall against the MK Dons and it was a really good game. I cant make the Ipswich game as I am at the Oval (again).

I will be going to the game against Grays which is on the 18th Sept I believe. Well worth a watch I am sure.

yep, will be there.

Mannings usually open all day, will aim to be there just around 6 for a swift pint or two

would be good if we could muster 100 fans or so to all sit in a group and cheer for the SUFC in an echo all round portman road.

so, me, my eldest, you going makes 3. just another 97 needed!:)

Noticing this has slipped off the front page this is a roll call reminder!

A re-count of previous posts indicates that 4 of us will be there. Just another 96 then for the Shrimpers Reserve Blue Army to make a voice heard at POrtman Road tonight!

Come on you lot, shape up, its not far and though it grates me to say it Portman Road is probably the best stadium (bar THe Hall of course) the reserves or the first team will play in this year (don't count Elland Road - over-sized dump).

when you get there get them to open up the away end just for you 4. If you have to tell them there's about 300 going up for the game.

I can try...though they refused my similar request last year.

The ground is in view from my office window - can't see too many making their way there at the mo so if anyone is worried about getting a ticket you should be ok.

You can add my good self to the Roll Call. I only get to see the reserves when they play in the evening!

Unfortunately, that means only away games! Usually Norwich & Ipswich!
