So another defeat and now we sit seven points off safety. Looks like our fears are coming true and we wont have a repeat of such a glorious albeit lucky season as we did last year!

The club has gone past all expectations over the past few seasons and perhaps now its time to just enjoy the football we are seeing being played (by both sides on the pitch)

This is not to say we should give up on the club - far from it. Of course we should look to be strengthening our squad and improve our current crop of players, but at the same time we should realise the teams in this division are a hell of a lot better than the standard we are used to and that for the first time in ages we are seeing decent teams come down to the Hall with names we actually recognise!

We are approaching xmas already and although im sure we will turn things around, i think all of us need to relax a bit more and just enjoy the decent standard of football we are seeing

We can sort out these seven points easily my freind,it's quite amazing how the table can look if we can start winning.Heck of a long way to go yet.Yes we have spent our time chopping and changing, been crap at times, had no luck at times and been all over teams without forcing home the points.
But think back to the first three months of the season and ask yourself - have we adjusted and improved?

I would say yes.Certain players are back from injury and we've learnt alot on the way.No doubt now we need to attack with venom now and not fanny around the opponent's box.

I thought Colfester taught us a harsh lesson in that at this level it aint like a game of cricket.Players from other teams so far have been throwing themselves down constantly and blatantly. We don't.Honesty starts in the lower leagues and gets progressively worse as you rise. Our players have had to adapt to being too naive.Instead of fronting up to people, they'll have to think of other ways!

Accept relegation in November? -F$%K OFF.Get that win and just you watch our fans sing. That team is ready for another challenge and our fans will go crazy if they think we've got a chance.I'll look at the table in March and decide then.In the meantime,COME ON SOUTHEND.

Just what our team needs Sam, SUPPORT.Keep the faith guys, and start believing we can win every game, those players need to feel that vibe from the terraces.

Cheer every pass and tackle, not just the shots.

Make up more chants about players, they love it!

Imagine what it could do for your confidence if someone sung your name.

GOT to,GOING to.......get the points we need now.

I'm sorry but the passion I have for Southend United makes it very hard for me to enjoy watching us loose week in week out. If i wanted to enjoy pretty football each week I wouldnt be a southend fan.

Wise words.

I am sure every Southend fan enjoyed watching ex-conference side Col******r United stick three past us at the weekend.

I haven't enjoyed a game so much since Doncaster knocked us out of the FA cup.

Its all ifs and buts though. The fact is we havent won for 15 games, including defeats against very poor teams- Hull, Wolves, Col******r. We need to win at least half the points available to us. Its a big big ask.

That's taking "gallows humour" to new heights, Mad Cyril...

I'm not enjoying the fact that it's going to take nothing short of a miracle to save us from relegation.

In fact, does anyone know what our relegation odds are at the moment? I may lump on. At least it would soften the blow.

Aren't you forgetting Scarborough knocking us out the FA Cup as well? That was fun at the time.

3 years ago crystal palace were in the bottom 3 at christmas and they ended up getting promoted via the playoffs. Now i'm not daft enough to even suggest we will follow this path but just using this as an example that all is not lost and survival is possible, once we start getting that element of luck which has totally deserted us this season.

I feel a little happier reading that.

I'm not being sarcastic by the way, this really has cheered me up a bit so thanks!

Let's keep the gap to no more than six points until January, and then fork out or one or two key loan players, and they will cost, if we really want to stay up.

Meanwhile, let's wake up on the pitch, Dugoid was the culmination of the extreme 'professionalism' I have witnessed this season in the CCC so my message to the players is to match the others teams on this front. Don't do a Dugoid, but if you get a nudge go down, if we are one-up,take your time with that throw ,free kick etc. Grind out the results, get stuck in, go down fighting, that's all we've ever asked.

1/4 with Coral, to put it in perspective around the same odds as Leona to win X Factor!

The other way to cheer yourself up is to watch last season's DVD.

Errr, who?!

Thanks for the tip, though. I may well have a flutter at that price.

You might get better odds if you back Ben to win Matt?

Just to make sure you know what you are getting, don't want those greedy bookies misleading you. Put £400 quid accross the counter and get back £500 next May if we go down, is it worth it?

Personally Ive resigned myself to the fact that we arent going to be able to stay in the division and am going to try to enjoy it whilst it lasts.

The team is playing a lot better since the Man Utd game and I will accept relegation, as long as we give it a good go.

I dont doubt the players passion or desire, however with only two wins in the league so far we would have to go on some run now to get ourselves out of bother.
