Southend will make their 4th visit to Huish Park having had a player sent off in each of their 3 previous trips (Jenkins, Maher and Barrett).
If I were looking for a referee to break that sequence, I wouldn't necessarily pick Roger East. He will be our 4th consecutive "first year" referee when he makes the short drive from his Salisbury home.
Mr East is another referee who favours the Collina tribute hairstyle and will be officiating his 18th League match, his first Yeovil league match and his second Southend match. A repeat of the scoreline in his previous match at Northampton will do nicely.
He is not a referee who fades into the background and, in my experience, tends to be a bit on the fussy side. Not in the least card shy.
James Cox and Eamonn Smith will be assisting Mr East.
