Wednesday's man in the middle is Mike Thorpe from Suffolk. a regular choice for the bigger home pre-season friendlies at Southend. He is usually a steady official and averages between 2 and 3 yellows a match. Been a bit stingy with the reds (so far) this season.
Last competitive match at the Hall was the 4-0 defeat at home to Birmingham just before Christmas last season and before that the rather better 4-1 victory over Brentford the year before. Also that season did the 2-2 at Walsall. So that's a win, a draw and a defeat. Which way will it go on Wednesday?
