Man in charge on Saturday is the very experienced Graham Laws from Whitley Bay, North Tyneside. He has gone about his career in the Football League for some 12 years without too much controversy, but without making it to the upper echelons. Usually a reliable official. For geographical reasons, he has yet to visit the Hall, although he did get as far as Colchester when he refereed our LDV 3-2 win there, dispensing with Drewe sometime before the end. The half dozen or so away League matches he has refereed have all been draws except the 2-0 defeat at Barnsley last year where one of theirs was red-carded. Don't be necessarily concerned by these two red cards, he is not an above-average red card man this season.
Has refereed both an LDV final and a play-off final.
Assistants are Dean Mohareb, a referees development officer with Lancashire FA, who should be good but probably won't be, and Paul Graham from Manchester.
