Ref watch .... Galpharm

Life President
After the somewhat eratic performance from Paul Melin who amply demonstrated why he had fallen from favour, Saturday's official is one of the most experienced on the Football League. Mike Pike from Barrow-in-Furness is man in charge at Huddersfield. In his eleventh and probably close to final season, he has, surprisingly, only refereed us once before, a 0-0 draw at Darlington in 03/04. Usually reliable and not prone to extreme actions, he has a low card count (Mike Riley sent off more players in one match last week than Pike has managed in over two seasons!).

Assistants are S. Bennett (No, not that one ... a new mid-season addition to the list) and Andy Hutchinson.

I thought Melin was good on Tuesday. Let the game flow and used his cards appropriatlely.

In particular I thought he let the game flow by allowing Forest to use the elbows, studs and weapons to stop our players....

What game were you watching? He gave us absolutely nothing while we were routinely attacked on and off the ball. Everytime we lent into one of their players he blew up... madness

You are obviously entitled to your opinion, but I think you will be in the minority. He started off just fine, foul detection a little bit random but generally did what was necessary and the cards were spot on. For some reason, after half-time when Forest began to get on top, the decisions were all one way. As for stopping play because a player has cramp, that is simply wrong in Law unless he feels that cramp is a "serious injury".
