Red card to Layer Road

Prodigal Son

Manager
Pushing today's incidents, the result, etc to one side, can someone tell me how Layer Road continues to get the relevant authorisation to host Football League level football?

I had not been on the terraces since the eighties at LR, but it was a deeply unpleasant experience, I could not see the goals and my seven year old was not very happy.

It can surely not even be good enough for the Conference?

I used to do the rounds of some pretty awful away grounds years ago,LR was the worst then, and nothing has changed apart from the seats behind the goal.

How do they get away with it?

You know what makes it even funnier is that they have been approved to have bigger ground that is only 12,000 seater!! Same size as RH!

I thought it was 10,000?

Yes indeed - a total non-league sh!thole. So they have the bragging rights tonight - we're a bigger, better club with a considerably richer history and that will never change. They're riding the crest of a wave right now, the like of which they've never witnessed before and (once their luck runs out) they never will again.

One team in Essex - the mighty Shrimpers. Keep the faith people.

We ARE the bigger club and I think we always will be, our potential fan base is much larger.

Yep, Col******r will be back in the conference in no time.

That is their level really with such poor support.

No disrespect to those inbreds who do believe in them though.

No need to make it personal though fellas... 3-0 youre bottom of the league after all..... and ive even sympathised with you on other threads!

Just shocking how you can survive with a ground like Layer Road!

i have no idea why the FL lets teams use crap grounds such as layer road and roots hall.

that's cos selhurst is even worse. so is luton.

So selhurst park is worse than Layer road and roots hall???

Take it you have never been to any of them!! I have been to all 3!!

been to all 3

if you mean comfort and atmosphere selhurst comes bottom of the 3.

Was certainly great atmosphere when we went this year!! And I had a very comfortable seat!! At Least they give all there away fans seats!! You can't even afford them!!!

I couldn't care less about the Grounds i perfer the smaller grounds - Each to there own. That aside - I do wonder how you would fill a bigget stadium when you struggle with Layer road.

least we give fans choice-i want to stand at every game but can only at 24 of 46 games this year.

least you get covered terraces

how about a trip to brighton or brentford or gillingham etc.?
