We have broken previous records with 155 visitors this afternoon just after 4pm ,so thank you all very much for sticking with us during a spell of technical gremlins. It is most unusual for the forums to go Pete Tong , perhaps we are suffering for our own success.

I am sure other web-sites would like to have the same over-use problems.

Great news lads...keep up the good work

Good numbers. All you need is someone suggesting they have an official SMS regarding a transfer and you can hit that sort of target every week.....

You're not wrong - during the meltdown of SZ I paid a visit to shri**ers-onl**e.co.uk and decided it was better to do without my SUFC related fix while the Zone was down.

One decent Southend site in Essex,
There's only one decent Southend site in Essex...

Well after a reboot does tend to clear the stats.

Also there is no need to slate SOL they do a decent job and have created a good little site, just not as popular as SZ. Mainly due to the fact SZ has been around longer and the Messageboard users tend to stick to SZ through thick and thin, as the messageboard is what gives SZ the edge, no matter how many people moan about cliques they still come back.

I think it is beneficial to all of us to have different sites as it keeps people on their toes. For instance when SZ chat room died during Scriv and XS reign we where without a Chat room, So SOL stepped into that gap and created a nice little chat room which everyone used. Then to give SZ back one of it's features and to prove that SZ is more than just a messageboard, I created a new chat room for SZ and gave it the a Shrimper feel namely the Spread Eagle background. It seems a lot of people then left SOL to come back here.

I now notice that SOL have taken the same program I used to upgrade their chat offering. Am i annoyed?? No i consider it flattering that they wish to use the same app as the one I chose.

Long live SZ and SOL who give fans slightly different views of being a shrimper!

And before anymore SOL bashing occurs, I'd just like to congratulate them on what appears to be another successful SOL Family Day at Wat Tyler park, where Adam Barrett and Darryl Flahavan also turned up and they managed to raise over £700 for the Fair Havens. A great effort lads and well done!!

I represented SZ at the SOL Fun-Day , my contributions being falling down a hole in the field and winning a signed Freddy Eastwood painting in the Raffle.

A good time was had by all.

It is always good to raise money for charity , as you all know, my personal one being the Southend Hospital Breast Cancer Clinic. No doubt we will be doing more Sally-assissted raffles in the Spread in the near future.

There is always room for supporter's sites , we don't have rivals, just fellow fans of all things SUFC.

I took the chat room off for that reason Andee, it just died and I basicly got fed up with it.

The site members were then asking for a chat room, so I thought what the hell. Looking around for a good one, I kept bumping into the one you use, which I couldn't. So I've used one from the same developer, but it's not as enhanced as the flash chat you use.

I wasn't bashing, just lighthearted banter - apologies if anyone was offended. SOL's charity work is clearly admirable.

It's different strokes for different folks I guess and IMHO, there isn't a single SUFC related site on the net that compares to this place (including the OS).

Oh yes , Jim. I still feel a little stiff at times.
