Recommend me a new mobile!

I need the advice of the Zone faithful again. My mobile contract is now up and I want a new phone. I'm not in the slightest bit up to date with new phones so need to get some recommendations... people at work keep telling me to get an iphone but are there any decent alternatives? Would like something with decent internet capabilities... a good camera and decent storage space for music would also be a plus point!

Over to you guys and gals!

downside of the iphone is it's camera, but for music (if you already have an ipod), video's, email and internet it's superb. Can't help you with the alternatives, always used Sony Ericsson before and felt they were getting worse and worse

If you want something that's challenging, try the Blackberry Storm touchscreen phone.
A challenge indeed. Good though.

I swear by this bad boy. Got one in about 1982 and haven't needed any other phone since

I'm using a Nokia 5800 at the mo which is a cracking phone for music and internet, but the N97 is looking likely to better it (apparently).

I got some LG thingy or other. No idea, it's quite nice. I've got Chorlton & The Wheelies theme tune as my ring tone if that helps.

I have a Nokia E71, great for internet, e-mail and music but not such a great cam, also has a qwerty keyboard but i really want a touch screen phone now.

Love the iphone. It so easy to use - no need to refer to any manuals and seems to do everything you need. Not a brilliant camera but for pictures I tend to use a errmm camera.
However i dont have Chorlton & The Wheelies theme tune as a ring tone which some would see as a drawback.

yep, the camera is good enough for snaps with your mates... but no one uses their camera-phones for anything more difficult that that.

As you say, it's so simple and easily to used. Charge it up, turn it on and play!

As someone else pointed out if you want to take pictures why not buy a camera ?

Why doesn't somebody invent a camera that has a phone on it - Brilliant idea. The technology for a quality phone that can dial a number and answer an incoming call surely can't be as hard as the technology to get a good quality camera into a very small phone.

I would recommend anything BUT the iphone. VASTLY OVERRATED ! If I was renewing a contract now the N97 would get my choice. I'm thinking of asking 02 what they would charge me to break the 18 month contract and switch. Lesson to self. Never a) sign up for longer than 12 months b) buy into the hype that Apple managed to generate.

LG Arena km900 great touch phone same as iphone ie controls but half the price, built in 32gb memory + memory slot and a good camera with flash and camcorder, quick wifi, i had one 6 months, aint find anything naff on it yet

I bought that Friday, bloody good!! Only down side is there is no stylus or something as my fingers seem to his every other button except the one I want!!

I too had that same problem but you'll find the more you use it the more intuitive and easy it is to use. Lack of apps is something I find disappointing but apparently that's something Samsung are in the process of doing something about.
