Flavs 6 - little to do but was nervy in the first half as Burnley stuck the ball in from out wide and corners... however got the ball out quick as we pressed on in the 2nd half

Francis 7.5 - Class game... pick of the first half and kept going. Once or twice lacked in composure but gave it all as we pushed forward

Clarke 7.5 MOTM - Absolutely rock solid.. great in the air and excellent blocks and clearances. Passing was useful too

Sodje 6.5 - Whilst solid in the air, was wasteful in possession

Hunt 6.5 - Solid but given a torrid time in the first half.. slowly got into it as burnley sat back

JCR 6 - ineffective game for JCR, chased down some lost causes but did very little on the ball... competition for his place may have come at the right time as he looked tired

Maher 6.5 - calmed things down but failed to really get a grip on the game and give the boys a concerted period of possession

Macca 7 - some crunching challenges and smart passing but failed to really boss the midfield

Gower 6.5 - had a good first half but faded

Freddy 7.5 - quality game as he fed on scraps but worked hard. unlucky not to score in the 2nd half

bradders 6.5 - didn't do much wrong but wasn't quite good enough to unlock burnley. should have done better when through in the first half

SUBS

Sam 6.5 - looks useful, has a good touch and probably a winger more than a striker

Foran 7.5 - changed the game when he came on... especially good from the wing i must say... and took his goal really well after taking a gamble on the passback

Harrold 7 - also impressed when came on, nearly put through by freddy and did well with back to goal

Freddy seemed really up for the game, Francis easily man of the match for me.

Sodje had a mare in the first half, was much better in the second half

Agree with most of what you said apart from that

I would have given Francis a 5, he kept kicking the ball off the pitch and hardly passed to a blue shirt all night.

I thought Francis was awesome and thoroughly deserved the MOTM award. But the first two Shrimpers I spoke to after the game said he was shocking. Odd.

Thought it was a flick on from Harrold rather than a passback?

Foran deserves a start on Saturday in my book.

Flick on from Harrold then a header back from defender.

Agree Foran did enough to warrant a start.

There were a few misplaced passes but Francis was very good today, and Im not a huge fan of his.

Certainly in the first half he was excellent but made a few bad passes later in the half. Throughout he was a threat going forward.

Oh, I was too busy shouting to notice then. :)

Maher's passing was absolutely woeful in the first half, so he wouldn't get more than a 5 from me. Francis showed moments of real quality, but he sometimes takes his eye of the ball and makes glaring errors when under little pressure.

Foran is more mobile than Bradbury and Harrold combined, although credit to Ginge for winning the header for foran to score. In general a poor poor game that certainly picked up in the end(the very end)

Funny how some have said it was a good game, if the goal hadnt gone in Im sure their perception would be different. I found it extremely scrappy and irritating to be honest. Typical battling relegation fight.

Good result yes but agree not a great game. But hey who gives a monkeys we are 20th :)

Opinions always vary, thats what football all about, I also worried about JCR going back to not crossing or actually acheiving anything, still worked hard though.

agreed... we defended well but lacked an edge. was the first game ive seen this season and though we had nicked it, we have playeda lot better and lost this season so it's good that our luck has changed!

Foran will most certainly start on Saturday. With Macca out banned, Gower will slip into the middle and Foran on the wing.

Bradbury was absolutely dire. Certainly no more than a 5. Completely ineffective. He offers nothing to the team in my opinion and why Foran didn't come on for him earlier i don't understand. As soon as Maccas back I beg Foran to start up front with Freddy. I just wish Tilly would give him a full game up there.

Francis had a good game, showed some good defending and also looks quite dangerous going forward. However, he did have a few wayward passes and so isnt MOTM for me. That title has certainly gotta go to Clarkey who was immense.

What will be interesting is how Hammel is gonna fit back in who, as Tilly said, had been our best player this season til he got injured. Hunts performances have improved greatly and there is no way Francis can be dropped...

Its funny how peoples opinions are so different! I agree with you I thought Francis was poor tonight, only put one good ball in all game. Compared to saturday he didnt play well anyway.

My man of the match even though he didnt play long would have to be Foran, scored the vital winner and we looked so much more dangerous when he came on for the innefective Bradbury. Also though Sam looked lively when he came on.

Also a mention to Clarke who I dont recall seeing miss one header all night!

Hammel should have started. Hunt has done nothing wrong but a right footed player at left back does not add anything going forward.

To be honest Hunt looked a little lost especially in the first twenty minutes, not his fault really he playing out of position, woul expect Hammell back for leeds. I still not sure how Francis got MOM, Clarke was my man tonight....HE BALD HE SCOUSE HE GONNA ROB YA HOUSE PETER CLARKE PETER CLARKE, top result.

Hunt has done a lot better at left back than I thought he would but I'd agree that we look an unbalanced side with him there.

yeah i agree... however with him there we haven't conceded in 2 games and so i would stick with him... hammell can wait (if we carry on with this results i wouldn't care less if he stays on the bench)... hunt and francis again for me on sat!
