This is excellent news for Southend United and for Nile. It gives us a real chance of pushing for promotion, provided that he and Cox stay fit. If we don't get promoted I reckon a bigger club will buy him next summer.

I agree with you , but bigger clubs could also take the view that if we don't get promoted , he isn't any great shakes

When was the last time we had someone with more than a 2 year contract ?

Ryan Leonard got a 3.5 year deal which an option in the clubs favour. The 3.5 years expires this summer. Needs another long contract please Ronald. McLaughlin got 3 years too i recall.
 
Heard he was being offered this a few weeks back but didn't think there was a cat in hell's chance of him actually signing it! Good work by Uncle Ron and Phil
