Random players you have wanted to us to buy...

After noticing people throwing around completely random names for us to have a look at....are there any random players you have seen at the hall who looked good and you thought we should buy, or that would go on to be stars, but actually did very little in their career?

I remember us playing Borient before the England Germany massacre, and their front two of Constantine and Ibhere? looked class,...we all know what happened to Constantine and Ibhere never did much. Likewise Guttridge stood out for me when we played Cambridge at home 18 months before he signed. A few years before that I saw Cambridge play Peterborough (random I know) and some guy called Billy Beale ran the midfield for Cambridge....but pretty soon drifted out of the league and was evidently talentless.

Other more random ones.....the black fella that came on as sub for Northampton left me ****ting myself as we could not cope with his pace, and Isedyn Christie also destroyed us and didnt go on to much. Scunthorpe had a Ginger left back a couple of years ago who I thought would do well, and when we blew automatic promotion at Grimsby their defender (Forbes) looked awesome....however if that was the same Forbes that played for Yeovil then he is in fact an absolute donkey!

Probably goes to show I should not be a scout!

I thought Luke Rodgers was unbelievable when we played Shrewsbury back in Div 3, I know he's gone on to do ok and some would still like to see him here but I thought he was destined for much greater things.

I once saw Neville Roach for a rest of the world XI side in Buster Footman's testimonial and I remember dreaming we could sign him.

Maybe yeah...am sure he was / is cack, but in my nervous state he seemed frighteningly quick!

A young lad by the name of Simon Sturridge (brother of Dean Sturridge), I watched the little fella tear our defence apart and score a great hat-trick for Stoke City at the Hall in the early 90's in a game which we lost 4-2.

The guy had skill, pace and movement, remember the bloke sitting next to me saying that we should part with some cash and buy him.

I was banging on about Lee Williamson after the Northampton LDV game a few years back. As I went with a Northampton supporting mate, we sat in the home stand and everyone there was saying how he was crap and was a passenger.

Guess he proved them wrong!

Nathan Stanton ??? I think he scored the winner at RH a few years back with a screamer from the edge of the box ... but now i believe he's knocking about the the BSP at somewhere like Halifax.

He used to play for MK Dons, a centre half.

He played absolute blinders against us, in the league and when we had them in the FA Cup.

Think he plays for the Posh now.

Junior Agogo is mine. I actually got told why we weren't signing him though when I spoke to someone within the club. Didn't stop me championing his signing though. Boy could we do with him now.

I always liked the look of Leon Britton and wish we could of signed him when we had him :confused:

Also as someone stated I. Christie tore us apart one game at the hall and he looked superb, I also always hated when we played against Leo Fortune west and the same with the front 2 pairing that cheltenham had a few season's back .
One was a big lump ( allsop i think ) and the other was a tiny fella and they always done well against us can't think of his name, and who could forget Bullock who ran the show when we played Blackpool at Cardiff.
