Got back to the car for the drive home yesterday and heard "Our featured match Rotherham vs Southend -- any Southend fans driving home want to give comments , phone in". I did and the researcher told me that "if the producer liked my comments they would ring me back". We then spent the next two hours listening to "Premier this" "premier that" "Chelski blah blah" "Wet Sham and Pardew for God" and even half a dozen "Hearts are the best thing to come out of Scotland since haggis".

Never did get a phone call , bastards - I could have been even more famous by now.

Next time I ring , I'll tell them I'm a Man Ure fan , sure to get on then.

Not much better in the press today

A couple of inch high reports in the Mirror and NOTW, and even after our 5th successive win, we dont get anyone in team of the week. They even gave Gary Johnson manager of the day.

They had one mention for Southend in the whole show and that was short comment from the assistant lady, not a squeak from Greeney.

Felt like texting in and asking if they could continue to not mention us ever so that teams could continue to underestimate us!

Why am I not surprised? We never get recognition. We got none last season and we went up, therefore I'm happy for us to be underestimated this season also.

The NOTW is probably to busy kissing the ar$es of Orient to bother printing anything complimentary about us..!

Whenever Alan Green does 606 the lower leagues are never talked about, because Alan Green doesn't know anything about the lower leagues. Whenever a lower league supporter calls up, the caller talks about their club and Green mentions not knowing about what they're talking about and gets rid of them. He only engages in conversation when a Premier$hite caller rings in or a big championship club. Last season a Southend fan got on and mentioned our long unbeaten run and how Tilly was doing a great job. He knew nothing about us and showed no interest in finding out. It's the same with any lower league team.

Always worth a call when Brighty does the show or Chappers, who don't always know much but seem eager to actually discuss all issues in the football world.
