Question - How fcuking Supern was

Wow. Was it as loud as I thought it was. 2-0 up f%&ked it up and thats why were TOP of the League. Nice ground though, and quality view!

Well done Southend and Fans. Superb. 3 more points for Promotion! 4 for the title!

That was my first visit to Barnsley since about 94 and the away end must be the best I have sat in this season. It was helped by the superb atmosphere and the vast number of Blues fans present.

Roll on Saturday.

Superb atmosphere yesterday. Great turn out for such a long trip, I'd say over 2000, and the noise was excellent even when we were 2-0 down. We were the 12th man in the 2nd half. The Barnsley fans were pathetic. '2-0 and you f*cked it up' was classic.:D

Superb atmosphere. 2nd half I thought my heart was going to give up beating. What a range of emotions. My son loved it and days like this make it easy to convince youngsters to ignore the big teams and support there local side.
Thought 12 quid was a bit steep a price for my six year old though.

took my 6 year old along as well yesterday, went to the box office to see if they had any kids schemes so he could get in cheaper but nothing doing, have taken him to macclesfield and rushden before, who were great and let him in for nothing, ah ! those quaint league 2 clubs...

so paid £12 for him to sit and watch his DVD player whilst occasionally looking at the game...still worth it i guess, will be paying £7 for him to watch it at swansea as well, which is a bit nearer the mark !

Best bit was when he had to go through a seperate turnstile from me as he was a concession. So I had to pay £12 for him, let him wander through one entrance whilst I went in another and paid £20 and met him at the other side. What the hell was that all about?
Hullbridge Shrimper, to assist in getting your boy involved in the on the field action you could take a tip from my bad parenting guide in which I allow my boy to sing the swear words when joinning in in the singing. No way allowed to swear at home he was devestated to miss out on the chant of you dirty northern ba$tards so was over the moon to get involved in the ooooooooooooooooooooooo your sh!t aaaaaahhhhhhh.

Forgot to mention but how loud was their tannoy system before kick-off. That was way to loud, you had to shout just so the person next to you could hear you.

I have no doubt it was a deliberate attempt to drown us out. I think someone even complained to a steward that it was too loud. I bet they wished they could have turned it on when we scored our goals

There was a family next to me yesterday with 2 daughters so I thought I had better be aware & not swear as much as I usually do. I needn't have worried as the Dad joined in all the words and was very vocal in his choice of words to abuse the referee with.

Made me think on the way home, as hopefully my little girl will want to accompany me on away-trips in the not so distant future!

Don't worry, give it a year and he will be more interested.

My seven year old fell asleep during the LDV Final last year when he had just turned six.

I got my son more focused by saying he got a packet of football cards for every Southend goal, every win and two packs for every Freddy goal. Needless to say, we've spent a fortune on football cards.

I guess the chanting and swearing goes with the territory to a degree, I chant and use the odd expletive, wouldnt be the same at footy if i didn't. but like most parents, I do tone it down when I see other children around. we have s/t's in the west stand family area at home and obviously the language around him is generally fine.

yesterday, I just put his earphones in and turned up the volume on his dvd !!...he seemed fairly oblivious anyway..just need to teach him about sheep before the swansea game !

Against the Gills my brother actually resorted to texting me his plans to sit with Dan, and i was right next to him.

T'was I and the bloke next to me. Total disgrace, the old guy in front of me had his hands over his ears and was nearly in tears. It was IMO over the legal limit and I will be following it up with Barnsley Council bods.

I spoke to the head-shed steward who clearly agreed that it was too loud and sent someone to turn it down. It was turned down for about 10 seconds and then turned up again. t%$&*rs.

Turned up to drown us out, some of you certainly love a conspiracy!

I thought it only went loud when they switched to the music for the players to come out of the tunnel?

All in all, I thought stewards and police were some of the best I have come across, although that's not saying much.

The bit I don't understand is fans having a go at the police about the ref, are they supposed to arrest him?

That was the best atmosphere I've ever witnessed at any football match. Us fans were superb. Its amazing you quite we are at home and how loud we are away.

If only we had a large single trier of seating like that at roots Hall, we could make an atmosphere like that every week.

Unfortunately, at roots Hall it's just all small tiers (South Stand prime example) which cannot generate enough voices for any considerable noise and any supporters that want to sing are dotted all over the place which does nowt for atmosphere!
