Question from Millwall Fan

How long does it take to walk from Shoeburyness to Southend town centre, along the front?

Cheers.

We've sold about 700 tickets so far, so should be about a thousand there. Should be a good game.

Flippin' heck! Ages! Getting on for a couple of hours from the end of the railway line all the way along the front and then presumably to the ground!

An hour and a half walking steadily; longer if you stop to trash any of the local facilities. Longer still if you call in all the pubs en route.

Well, I had planned on setting light to as many ice-cream huts as possible. :headbang:

My mate walked drunk from Southend to Shoeburyness and back at 4am the night we lost 0-3 to Col U in the CCC. He said it was quite a delightful stroll, and highly recommends it ;)

Come on guys, dont wind up the oppo - its a 5 min walk, follow signs for Foulness, you'll be there in a jiffy.

I used to do it almost every weekend after a night out on the lash. Saved £20 taxi fare back to Wakering and helped nip any hangover in the bud.

It is a fair old stroll though. At least an hour and a bit to Southend town centre, and then another 20 minutes / half hour to the ground

Why would you even want to go through to Shoeburyness if you're coming down for the football? If you want a walk, get off at Chalkwell and walk along that way, probably a good mile and a half less and a more pleasant walk - and you get to pass Rossis on the way!

"This pie is loaded, I'm hi-jacking this train -- take me to Shoeburyness"

If you are getting the train to Shoebury to see the seafront on the way to the match you can get the number 9 bus, it's much quicker - saves a few hours and goes along the seafront and stops right outside the stadium mate, hope it helps
