Next up is another battle that is surely too close to call, MKs The Stone Roses vs Ulysses and The Clash

Voted purely on basis of which album I prefer, not as LC beat my choice in the previous round!

Ok I won't lie, it's a tough choice - The Clash are one of the finest bands this country has ever produced and they've knocked out some cracking tunes and this is a seminal album.

But The Stone Roses captured a moment in pop history and literally invented the Indie scene as we know it today. They turned kids from listening to the plastic pop of Stock, Aitken & Waterman and made guitar bands with attitude cool once more.

As good as The Clash were, and as much as I love Joe Strummer, they were spawned by The Sex Pistols, and not something that can be said of Brown, Reni, Mani and Squire, four very different people who brought us a truly exceptional album with outstanding, brilliant songs.

Despite being knocked out by The Stone Roses in the last round I can bear no grudges about an album which defined my youth. The haircuts, the clothes and even the way I walked was down to this album and band.

Yeah, sorry mate. It's just the music of my 20's, as the Beatles, Stones, Who etc were of my teens.

I loved that Stone Roses album, but I loved the Clash more.

Oh, "...it was the soundtrack to my youth...'' Frankly, my dears, I don't give a damn. Get real, get sorted, get the vote out...for The Clash, the only band that mattered!
