Puppies

Return to Modnomor Mountain⭐⭐🦐
We're thinking of getting a Cockerpoo or spaniel and we wondered if anyone has any recommendaions for breeders or puppies for sale locally. Any help would be much appreciated. We visited the Basildon Dogs Trust this afternoon, but there wasn't any dog that met what we wanted.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 12 year old cockerpoo and looked into breeders, and ended up in Southampton to get mine, never a day I have regretted him.
Just remember they are full of life to about two years old and will keep you on your toes non stop but the love they give is second to none.
Just make sure you get a recommendation for breeder, as a lot of so called breeders are just there for a quick buck x

I have a cocker spaniel working dog that is four in July, they need so much exercise so be prepared as on a good day I take him out 3 times a day just to try and tire him out, they want to be outside all the time especially in the summer, I’d have so much spare time if I never had a dog but wouldn’t be without him, best thing I ever did, it roughly cost me around £140 a month as well all in to keep him, insurance, vets, food and treats plus monthly flee treatment, and that’s without the grooming that gets done every 3 months, all the dogs mentioned above are so good around children also you’ll be ok on that count.

You could try talking to Acres Way in Thundersley. As others have said, check out the breeders if you can. One of my daughter's best friends works at Basildon Dogs' Trust so I could have a word with her if you want to be kept in mind should they get something in. There's also the wonderful Wood Green as featured on The Dog House, you could call them.

The Kennel Club used to have a search function that allowed you to search by breed and locate litters in local areas. That was going back some years so by now its probably behind a paywall and its subscription based.

Get a house rabbit 🐇

There you go that would have been another thread title with high hopes 😂

ShrimperZone at it's best. Thanks for the sensible stuff, and the comedians can shove it up their arses. We've done a fair bit of research now regarding local breeders and the average price range is in the region of 2.5k for either sort of puppy, and far more than we want to pay. So we are now on the waiting list of the Basildon Dogs Trust for a small/medium female pup.

Just be aware RHB , some insurance won’t cover as not aware of any previous illness etc, if they can they will find a way out
I pay £ 180 a month for my old pup but he has had about £ 20,000 paid out on various things from ruptured spleen to crucial ligament operation so always good to get a decent insurance mine Petplan are expensive but never had a quibble and paid out with 72 hours x
