Punching Above Their Weight

We must all have one. Which member of your team is scoring more runs than their skills suggest, or taking wickets frequently when they really shouldn't be.

My nominee is Rhys Thay, my wicketkeeper. His batting is proficient/wonderful yet he averages just shy of 50 in level III OD this season. The concentration certainly helps.

Who is yours?

Is only a proficient-superb bat. Is helped by good stamina and experience though. Has seen me home in countless tight games. Absolute legend.

Only a comp/comp and probably my 6th best batsman, but consistently beating everyone in averages, and won loads for us.

All about the proficients! Carlos Askew is proficient/exceptional but topped the averages for me last season and is steady at 42.67 this season which is 2nd behind Richie and compares favourably to Saj, Curtis and Lamey who all have better primaries but are stuck in the 20's.

Once Lamey is up to speed with WK I was going to sell Askew but i might just keep him as a specialist bat for dodgy pitches!!

Batting wise it's probably

Mushtaq Ricketts

He's only Strong / Respectable but does a pretty reasonable job opening the batting.

On the bowling front it's probably

Priyankara Prasad

Only Proficient / Proficient but can back it up with Competent XP, never seen him get really collared, and has a habit of chipping in with valuable wickets.

Super Scotty Rautenbach- comp/resp bat and WK. Opens in OD and comes in at 6 in FC. Scores quickly and scores often, + is a real match-winner late on.

career averages: 54.32 (OD) 56.45 (FC)

not a bad signing for 5k, all things considered.
