Tony Pulis has admitted his interest in Freddy Eastwood - but does not expect the hotshot to move to the Britannia Stadium

The 22-year-old, who will line up for Southend against Stoke on Saturday in their Championship opener, was the subject of a failed £1m bid from Derby County earlier in the week.

"I've inquired about him," said Stoke supremo Pulis.

"I personally believe he will make the step up and score goals in the Championship.

"I think an auction will start for him, but we don't want to be in a position where we are paying out silly money."

Looks like freddy is turning into one of the brightest players outside the premiership, noticed again he is on the bbc six players to watch list for the new season

Yep, brings a smile to my face seeing his photo on the Championship front page. It's good to see Championship managers underlining what we've been saying. Can't wait to see him playing in a blue hsirt again!!
