Pubs around the ground

Guest

Hi

What pubs around the ground show the pay per view Premiership games before/after kick off?  The Railway seems to have stopped doing them.

Thanks Matt

And more interestingly which pubs will be showing the Champions Trophy final between England and West Indies instead of some boring premier$hite game?

The Spread shows pay-per-view, personally I'd rather they show the cricket instead tomorrow.

No, that would be Dave, Glen is the stand-in landlord who is blessed with even less of a personality than Harry Potter himself

And who, when he was the full-time landlord of the pub, closed it for a reserve game against Millwall because he was worried about it kicking off!

He's not that bad really. The incident with the Millwall game wasn't helped by a couple of reprobate Southend fans who at the time were Spread regulars. Knowing Glen's shall we say 'nervous' disposition when it came to potential trouble connected with Southend games, they wound him up for weeks about how Milwall even caused trouble at reserve games and were well known for smashing up local pubs when they came to watch them.

Needless to say these two found it hilarious to discover he'd believed them and closed the afternoon of a reserve game which probably attracted the usual two men and a dog.
