PS3 Network Problem

I need some help from the computer heads amoung us.

I can't connect to the PSN. I've tried the normal things like switching the PS3 off and on, same with my router, but nothing works. I run a connection test and it obtains the IP address and succeeds in getting an internet connection, but always fails at signing in to the network. As the tree said to the lumberjack...i'm stumped. Any ideas?

The error code i'm getting is 80710B23. I've had a look on the laptop, and this code apparently mans either the whole PSN is down, OR the network is too busy to respond. WTF does that mean?

I had a similar thing happen to me yesterday, so it could be down to the PSN servers, unfortunately you just have to wait it out if thats the case.

Yep new thing. Happened about 5.30pm this evening. Proper annoying 'cos i wanna be shooting these spotty oiks. :)

Just used my ps3 for the first time in about a fortnight, not a regular gamer. how do you stop it jumping on an online game? and can you stop the little ***** with headphones talking at you?

The jumping is called "lag" and is because of your internet speed. Ideal speed for gaming is 2mb from what I can gather, but obviously it slows down at peak times.

In terms of the little ***** with headsets, most games give you the opportunity to mute them.
