PS3 Games Recommendations

Im most likely getting my bf a PS3 for christmas, I know you can get a PS3 and 2 games for a set price, if I have to choose the games what would anyone recommend? And where would be the best place to buy it?

What games you choose really depends on what kind of games your boyfriend likes. You really can't go wrong with something like Pro Evo, especially if he likes footie. The PS3 hasn't got many stand-out titles at the moment though, although Heavenly Sword is another pretty good one.

Yes he likes footy apart from being a Forest fan which is one of his faults lol. I dont really have a clue when it comes to games so any you can recommend that are generally liked by most will be good. Think pro evo is a good call, cant really go wrong with that, as DtS knows I am very good on computer football so my bf best watch out!

You cant go wrong with PES, i played a demo of the new one for xbox 360 seems like its gonna be class with the dive button.

Waaay back in the day before PES came to the fore, FIFA had a dive command. It was great fun diving to win penalties when playing your mates and looking at the seething fury in their faces...

There is on the xbox version so i take it there will be on the Playstation, if you dive at the wrong time you get a booking as well.

That dive button is gonna cause a lot of problems when playing my mates i tell thee now :thump:

I got F1 and Fall Of Man with mine plus a couple of BluRay films at Gamestation for 349, I'm not usually big on First Person Shooters but the online aspect of R:FOM swung it for me. Of Course the Footy juggernaut that is Pro Evo is out on Friday so looking forward to that. Been really impressed with the online stuff so far, been playing a couple of mates at F1 online and haven't experienced much lag at all. Plus, with the Ps3 Store you can download Demos, PS1 games and Movie Trailers straight to the PS3.

love footie, hate footie games. no matter which game. i've played loads and owed a fair few including pro evo, but i just hate them, not as responsive as i'd like and they always seem to save up button taps and just gets annoying. or switching players when idon't want it. so i've given up on them.

as for ps3 games to buy. i'd recommended heavenly sword, resistance: fall of man, and the soon to be release assasins creed, ratchet and clank.

I've got Pro Evo, FIFA, F1 & Heavenly Sword in the post at the moment. Hopefully some of them will arrive soon as I've only got Virtual Tennis at the moment which is alright but I really want play some footy.

Quite looking forward to getting FIFA actually, mainly because I got it for only £20 which seems a bargain to be able to play the 'Be a Pro' mode as Matt Harrold. Can't wait. It won't surpass Pro Evo though.

Going to get Warhawk soon as that looks pretty damn good. Plus got The Simpsons & Lego Star Wars coming out in the next three weeks. I think I picked a good time to get my PS3.
