Proposal to ban the EASY chant

* ORM *

Still Loves Emma Bunton. Roy McDonough is God!
Unless we have a two goal cushion. Perpetrators to be immediately thrown out and banned for six games.

All those in favour say 'Aye'.

Oh and in the same vein singing "Stand up if you love Southend" still ranks as the most pathetic chant at the hall. Discuss.

I personally would go for a total ban on the easy chant.(well maybe if we are 5 up we could give at a small go).

I think it is the most annoying thing to happen to football since Wayne Rooney.

Agree on both points ORM, stand up if you love Southend is pointless and means nothing, but it's the only thing day trippers people seem to know.

Easy chant has become an annoying farce, many teams sing it when equalising e.g. Huddersfield. How can it be easy if you aint winning?!

Why? It's a bit pathetic when the family bonanza day fairweathers do it and a few of them stand up and clap but don't actually sing, but when it's done properly, like at away games, it's excellent.

The easy chant is getting boring now. Even I didn't do it today.

And as someone said, when your close to each other like today it can be quite annoying because you get arms in everyones faces.

The easy chant is impracticle for home games because all the fans are so close together, and you need at least an arms width to get the full effect. Best kept for away games me thinks!

Even worse for away games. Why would you go to all that trouble to see them if you didn't love them. It's just plain stoopid.

There must something a heck of a lot better that three sides of the ground will join in to.

Just like this man

I love a party with a happy atmosphere.

Stop your moaning! For a player, to see your supporters all standing up and saying they love the team must be quite uplifting I imagine.

maybe if the opposition dominate us and go 3-0 up we should all thrust our fists in the air and chant "HARD HARD HARD"

I think a chant of lovejoy is a w**ker would go down a storm

that would get on soccer and wipe the smug grin of his face

You'd have thought so but I've just visited the Orient messageboard and you should see the scale of negativity there - it makes us lot look like the ultimate arse-lickers!

To return to the topic, I have to agree with ORM on both counts. The 'Easy' chant is without doubt the most irritating trend in the current game. As for "Stand up if you love Southend", that's just plain dull as far as I'm concerned.

Bloody chant & what with all those Coca Cola clacker things handed out just meant the chant was never far away.

I cant belive you lot, you have to moan about something.
I don't give a s%&t what we sing as long as it is directed to get the team going.
over the years roots hall has not had much atmosphere but the last 18 months has seen some of the best support i haveever seen.
STAND UP IF YOU LOVE SOUTHEND your saying is a crap song so what, on quite a few occassions the whole ground has nearly stood up which is superb.
The EASY chant is fantastic, in the family section all the mums dads and kids all do it and they have a right laugh and that is what football is all about so stop f%&king moaning and get behind the team with any song as long as it is encouraging

Yes. Ban that bloody 'Easy' chant unless we are stuffing the opposition.

It's use today was almost justified becasue Tranmere were so ar$e in the first half....

To be fair, Stand Up If You Love Southend is usually started in the west when the stewards make W/F block sit down....
