Never too early to start looking at who might be playing with us* in the Conference/National League/(enter latest name) next season.
*Yes - that does mean that this post is based on the possibility that Southend United are not promoted this season.
In Division 4 (renamed League 2 for some marketing reason) there are a number of teams sinking towards the bottom.
Carlisle & Morecambe currently occupy the relegation places but Accrington are close & Harrogate are on a terrible run (although they did win on Saturday) . All northern teams of course - that could add some miles to away trips next season. Colchester are doing rather better this season than the previous few.
As we know York are leading the charge in the Conference. Southend United remain some points off the play-offs (but I have my fingers crossed etcetera).
At the bottom, Ebbsfleet & Boston are in a difficult position. Everyone from Aldershot (in 18th) down will be worried. Well done to Tamworth who are currently clear of the relegation scrap.
In the Conference South it is very tight – the top 4 teams separated by 2 points. Torquay are currently top of the pile.
In the Conference North. Curzon Ashton lead Kings Lynn, Scunthorpe & Kidderminster Harriers. Darlington are 6th & Hereford in 9th position.
Anyone know where Curzon Ashton is? If they get promoted will this be the first team we have played with a "z" in their name?
