I started off years ago on the PS1 with fifa and when i got the xbox 360 i stuck with pro-evo 2009. Now my mate has been trying to get me back onto Fifa. I have been playing him on Fifa 2010 , but to be honest i just dont get the hype. Yes the you get the big names instead of stupid ones , but overall the game play is no where near as good. I am thinking of getting pro-evo as its in sainsbury's at the mo for 15 quid.

So post which game you play , why and also if you have played both or own both.

Oops, voted Pro instead of Fifa.

Fifa is superior in every way imo. The dribbling, the shooting, the runs, the passing. When you dribble on Pro, it seems like theres a bit of elastic connecting the ball and your foot. Hate it. Shooting is **** poor aswell. Why not keep it the same as Pro 06 (the best football game ever)

I used to be a PES/PRO man ever since I got bored of FIFA 95, but I bought an XBOX 360 at the end of last year, and FIFA 2010 is superb....far superior to PES in every way.

The big advantage which PES always held over FIFA was its fantastic and addictive playability (for which you could forgive the awful commentary, bemusing refereeing decisions and lack of licenses to portray 'real' stadia and team names/colours).....now, FIFA has caught up on the playability front, and imho PES' creators have become complacent, and it simply hasn't moved on far enough to match the improved FIFA offering.

Second that. Was PES ever since ISS and ISS Pro and ISS Pro Evolution etc etc. But Fifa 2010 ****s all over PES this year.

I have played both demo's on PS3, and I was liking FIFA more than PES. Bought FIFA 09 & 10 on their release dates as well, I prefer FIFA to PES, it has a more comfortable feel to it in my opinion.

Player graphics = PES spot on
Stadiums Kits etc= Fifa
Gameplay = PES

Overall PES wins

You say Gameplay is better in some aspects on PES and some of it is better but PES is very jerky and now that players on fifa can run in 360 degree rotations and PES still only uses 6 axis of direction is makes PES less enjoyable

I'm playing Sensible World of Soccer 95/96 at the moment and loving it - despite having Phil Gridlet in the team.

Depends what sort of football game you want really?

If you want a game where you can have Macca dribbling through entire defences doing 400 step overs flicking the ball over his head before volleying it into the back of the net, go for Fifa. On the other hand if you want a game that may not have quite the same fluidity BUT what it does have is a far better understanding of how REAL football is played, including the computer learning your style of football and adapting its own tactics to make the game harder the more you play then go for PRO.

Personally when I play with friends I think Fifa is better, because of the tricks and stuff, but when I want to sit down and become really engrossed in a season there is nothing better than PRO!

FIFA is more realistic. I am manager of southend and I got these messages from the board

"You shouldn't be spending more than you have"

"You shouldn't be offering players more than you have - very unprofessional!"

Own both and play both - both have their charms

Same here.

I prefer Pro Evo, but brought FIFA because my mates all play it and was fed up of getting beaten everytime I went round.

My big hate of FIFA is the R1 button when you shoot, which basically works every single time if your a good side. We always play as Spains, Brazils, Real Madrids etc and the scores finish 5-6 things like that. I haven't seen anyone miss when using R1 and am still to see a goal scored outside the box.

Pro Evo is much better in my opinion.

how is PES online this year. Was one of the main problems of previous editions with a ridiculous lag. Fifa is very good this year imo.
