I love both of these but Withnail has to get my vote for its longevity and iconic status. That said, the whole concept of 'McLovin' is comedic genius plus the quote about being the 'Iron Chef of Pounding Vag' deserves at least a place in the last 32. Shame that these two met so early.

Superbad is a top, top film. Maybe only bettered by The Hangover in this competition. I've seen it more than 10 times and its still funny.

I put it to you all that a vote for superbad isn't a vote for the americans, but a vote for comedy genius. It has revolutionalised modern comedy. It is what all modern comedies strive for. If this tournament was to vote for best british comedy then Withnail and I should go through......but it's not.

Superbad encapsulates the teenage years, much like inbetweeners, and no other film has made me laugh out loud quite like this film. Quirky characters and a great story makes this film one of the best comedies ever.

So please, vote for superbad. If you don't, we will lose to Carlisle!

Withnail and I deserves it's iconic status....its a beautifully crafted, scripted and acting film. It would be worthy of a place in a competition for best film.

However, for pure comedy, for me Superbad has so many more laugh out loud moments that it gets my vote.

Superbad, a fine example of a self captioning film.

Withnail & I, one of the greatest british comedies ever made, still has film festival screenings 23 years on from it's release, with legions of fans who turn up and can quote you the entire film. If Superbad can do that in 23 years time, I'll concede they may be equal.
