Pre-season

[Hong Kong Blue]

Is everyone else really looking forward to pre-season kicking off properly with the first of the friendlies?

The chance to stand and watch football with the sun beating down on the open terrace......

The first glimpse at the new trialists. Laughing at the tall lanky one who will be useless on the deck (the Serb is hot favourite to fulfill that role), and the lightening quick forward with the touch of a rapist (own up, who said Wayne Gray?), not to mention the burning question will there be a new Gareth Risbridger or Rio Alderton......

Trying to kid yourself, that scoring goals this forthcoming season isn't a problem, despite the fact that you only scored two goals against a pub team.....

Laughing at the players who bleached/shaved their hair in a no doubt futile attempt to get lucky on holiday....

Passing on a few dietary suggestions to some of the players who enjoyed the summer break a little too much....

Enjoying the 'no nonsense' defending of some glorified Sunday League player and the ensuing brawl.....

Bring it on!

This is something from the 'old days' that I really miss. The chance to see genuinely awful players on the fringes of professional football. Sadly, Tilly seems to be quite astute with his signings...
