Yep just got power back on here so that was just over an hour, playing board games by candlelight, reminds me of the general strike back in the early 70's....

My bit of Benfleet was fine.

Did anyone else see the lightning during last nights snow flurry?

Yep I did.

There was a Blue flash and the lights dimmed and then about two minutes later there was another flash and the power went.

Apparently it was something that happened in Basildon according to the radio this morning.

heard a massive rumble of thunder around 7.30 last night, but didn't see no lightning ( in Southend )

I heard that tooo, altho in my house the massive rumble of thunder was followed by a baby screaming for 10 mins.... i'd prefere the lightning please!

I'm in Corringham and there was a sodding great flash and bang! Shook the walls, cat woke up with eyeballs like maltesers. After that - silence, didn't lose power though.

....green maltesers at that! Poor thing was terrified (So was I but I'll not mention that).

I saw the blue flash of lightning, turned to look out the window, heard the thunder and had an accident... God bless Kimberley Clark!
