Question Powercut

Anyone else in the Eastwood area have a powercut. There was a massive bang about 3:10pm this afternoon and all the electric went. Thought one of my kids had tripped a fuse, but all the neighbours came out of their houses saying they heard the big bang as well. Phoned EDF and they said they were aware and the power came back on about 4:30pm.

Quite bizarre, sounded like a bomb going off.

Cable strike maybe? They certainly go with a pop if some numbnuts goes through a cable at 33KV.

The leccy board would just switch around it to isolate the fault to restore power if they can.

We were also without power in the Royal part of Eastwood. Didn't hear a big bang though

I live 2 minutes from you, also in the Royal part, surprised you didn't hear the bang, though to be fair, not many OAP's did ;)

I had no problems at all with my o2. Must of been one of the mast's in your area.
