A word to the wise is enough
What a chance for Coventry City to redeem themselves from last season. On January 7th we may have a free day, assuming Peterborough win a home cup replay with Notts County. Why not bring forward the Coventry away game which was due to be played on a Tuesday evening in March?
It would certainly go some way to redeeming the farce last season when the game was postponed on a Saturday due to some stupid gaming event, and played on the August Bank Holiday Monday (evening of course).

Seems like a good idea.

Experience suggests that there will be a shed load of reasons why the game cannot be changed all stemming from inter-related events and promises. It's odd really given that years ago rearranged games (and F.A. Cup replays) used to be put in place in the matter of hours and yet in the 21st century with all the fancy communication kit it seems more difficult than ever. :'(

Great idea, and a sensible move for both parties, it would be a shame to lose a Saturday fixture when everyone is playing, only to be congested later on in the league fixtures with the Saturday / Tuesday / Saturday pile up. (Even more so, should we progress in the CheckATrade trophy).

A quick look down our current Tuesday night fixtures, (other than Coventry) means we could also play Sheffield United away (they were knocked out of the cup by Oldham yesterday) or Oxford United away (should they lose their replay to Macclesfield).

It seems like a no-brainer, is clearly of benefit to both sets of fans and we're far out enough from the re-arranged fixture that it is unlikely that many people have booked trains, etc. can the Trust make a suggestion to the Club?

EDIT - hang on I got my Augusts mixed-up. I don't think you're allowed to bring forward a game from its originally scheduled date no matter how much logic the change makes. I was thinking that the Bank Holiday game that got moved was this season but it was last year.

Kind of still hoping Notts County win replay as booked time off as Peterborough is away game at home! (Does that even make sense?!) Was looking forward to few beers on the boat! And not knowing when rearranged game will be (the gods will make sure I will be working!)
But also yeah Coventry would be good if not

Certainly the two League Two matches which were re-scheduled and took place Saturday were put back rather than brought forward.

Not true, it happened on several occasions last season. Invariably it only applied to games that were initially planned as midweek games that could then be moved to a cup round weekend. Otherwise it would be hard to justify moving from one Saturday to another Saturday.

No point approaching the club until after December 13th, the date of the Peterborough v Notts County replay.

I'm guessing that wouldn't be a problem though if they have already had pre - approval for a football match the day before. It doesn't matter who the opposition is.

Well as we did last time I think we should play the return fixture at home.

More likely is if we win tonight and draw another team who are out of the fa cup, the next round of the Checkatrade will be scheduled for the Saturday instead of midweek.

Any benefits of bigger crowds accruing from playing Saturday instead of midweek will be marginalised by doing it for a Checkatrade.
