QUEENS Park Rangers face being relegated from the Championship or handicapped with a severe points deduction when the Football League board meet on Thursday.

The League is furious that QPR seriously breached their rules by entering into an illegal loan agreement with League One Oldham.

They borrowed £500,000 against the future sale of 24-year-old winger Lee Cook. The Football League has ordered QPR to repay the money.

AdvertisementBut QPR's financial crisis has deepened leaving them in a perilous position after the original cheque they issued to - repay Oldham bounced.

However, QPR chairman Gianni Paladini insisted last night: "We paid the cheque to Oldham on Friday. I can tell you now that everything is satisfactory."

A Football League source said: "We have unlimited powers to take an acceptable course of action in the case of QPR."

Wow, interesting stuff. I'd party all day but lets be realistic, although this sounds like a serious misconduct, and although they aren't a premiership team so they might get treated with more harshly then Wet Sham, I can't see it happening.

Interesting though!

Exactly if West Ham get off with a fine I think the same will happen to them.

But we can all dream can't we.

Leeds going "Phutt!", QPR in trouble - at this rate we'll be mid-table in the Championship before the season starts!

Copied and pasted off another website no idea what the real one is.

Never mind what's happening at QPR.

You boys should concentrate on finding FOUR hapless teams in L1, who you have the potential to finish above.

I do hope nothing happens to Tilson.I feel sure he will continue the good work he is doing at Roots Hall.

I think in all honesty we have as much a chance of getting re-instated back into the Championship as Chico would of making another performance at Roots Hall- NONE!

Nothing will happen, but the question I would like answered is what did they do with that money? They certainly went on a bit of a spending spree in January, which may well have saved them from relegation.

I think at worst, they'll get a points deduction for this forthcoming season. Tell you what though, more league clubs getting into trouble while the Premiership is still getting richer. It's not good.

I'll eat my arm off if we get reinstated. :p

Agree with Zoot Blue...the amount of clubs in the **** is getting alarming.

Stupid situation for QPR to get themselves into, but the worst that will happen to them will be a points deduction - anything worse is simply wishful thinking

Why would you want to be back in the CCC this coming season, we were sh1te last year and ended up getting spanked more often than not.

Face the facts we were good enough to stay up and we don't deserve to be there on merit. I wouldn't want to be in the CCC just because of somebody else's dodgy dealings, because we would struggle again....!

Without Eastwood we'd stand even less of a chance than we did last year!

I agree, Im actually looking forward to next season now and whilst I want us to be at CCC level again we need to earn the right to be there.

If the daftest happened and we were reinstated we are without the one player who could score goals at that level as well.
