Positives this season

Youth Team
Ok, had enough of the negative comments as it seems there is not much optimism in the air. Here are a few things i am looking forward to in the new season.

Ian Joyce - Very vocal, confident keeper who looks abit like Napoleon Dynamite.

Barrett and Clarke centre back partnership - You would struggle to find anyone better then these two in league one.

McCormack and Barnard - Have these two to come back.

Revell - Seeing him being played upfront.

Anthony Grant - To watching him get stuck in and hopefully dominate the midfield. If we sign him.

Scannell- Obvious reason. Quality in abundance

Tilson having no money - So he does not p**s it up the wall on a 200k striker worth 10k.

Franny - probably the best right back in the league

Herd, Moussa, O'Keefe - Some of the most talented youngsters in the league

Bailey - One of the best, if not the best, central midfielders in L1

Tilson and Uncle Ron - Absolute legends

Still got the best management team in the division and a chairman who is right behind them.

Wont have the silly flavs debate after every game (to short, to good looking etc).
Hopefully a few exciting new players to look forward to seeing.
Laughing at our corners and free-kiskcs now we have no one to take them.
Blue belles, need say no more ;-)

Laughing as our plan to lull the rest of the division into a false sense of security finally comes to fruition.

Seriously, getting back to the Hall will be great, seeing us scoring, singing etc the whole saturday experience.

Err.... really? I've always thought that, while both are talented individuals, they make a deeply mediocre / flawed partnership.

I reckon that all of the following have potential better centre-half partnerships than we do:

Hartlepool - Robbie Elliot / Michael Nelson
Orient - Thelwell / Mkandawire
Huddersfield - Mirfin / Lucketti (how the hell did they snap him up?!)
Leeds - Marques / Michalik
Leicester - Morrison / Tunchev
Franchise Scum - Diallo / O'Hanlon (another side with a scarily strong squad)

Orient will fall away like they always do. Posh will score so many that they'll be near the top anyway, especially with their highly rated keeper.

But I would expect very strong challenges from Posh, Franchise, Leeds, Leicester and Pools, with Hudds my dark horses.

Potentially, this is a weaker division than last season - and that's a reason to be cheerful. But right now, with no left back, with our most creative player (Mark Gower) gone, and still with the Clarke/Barrett issue not solved (surely, the play-off semi at the Keepmoat told us for the umpteenth time that Clarke and Barrett are a deeply flawed centre-half pairing) - we also look a weaker squad than the one which reached the playoffs.

Oh for the ability to tempt a Michael Nelson (admittedly, a thug - but a formidable one) or a Chris Lucketti to partner Clarke at centre-half, and to make Barrett learn (perhaps under Chris Powell) how to turn his undoubted talent and hunger into making him a left-back.

Hey ho. You can't always get what you want...

I am trying myself to be positive, but Joyce looks awful, Revell is awful .. and Clarke and Barrett are nowhere near the best centre halfs in the division.
I also am positive about Scannell, and Grant though, and think that O'Keefe is going to be the man !! Macca might not even get his place back as I can see starting mid being Mousse, Bailey, Scannell and O'Keefe.. Grant if he signs will probably play full back

I dont think there is anything between Mildenhall and Joyce and will be good them fighting it out for a starting place.

I hope that whoever gets the shirt will be because he's proven to be the best keeper out of the two rather than the one who is least awful...

I'm hoping as positively as I positively can that Mildew is positively shed loads better than Joyce. You said we had to be postive! :zzzzz:
