We are either good enough to win or we're not, regardless of managerial changes. My head says score draw, but my heart says a thumping win. It all depends on which 'Southend United' turns up on the day.

Hopefully they'll hire Di Canio and he'll fall out with half the squad come tomorrow lunchtime.

id take a draw all day long from there but I dont see why we cant take the win we are more then good enough

Hopefully having sacked they wont announce replacement until after the game- optimal in terms of negative effect on pompey players- anyhow their confidence is going to be low and ours high- a fancy we will get something out of the game if we continue the endeavour and focus of late.

they would have already lined up a replacement at least 2 games ago. seems like they are saying nothing further until after tomorrow's night match but I expect the players will know who the new manager will be. could work in our favour but losing Hurst is a blow - probably our best player. what I would give for a goal scoring forward like Crown turning up.

A great believer that when its your season you break all these voodoo,s and bogey team games.Only have to look at previous promotion seasons to see it can be done.......................:'(

Just great, just great!! It's what we needed, I rather Guy Whittingham stayed for one more game then get fired!! It's was clear the Pompey players don't want to play for him.

Don't follow this logic....we are good enough or we are not good enough to get a result...Their crowd will be up for it, but then they always are anyway at Pompey...Bit harsh on Whittingham IMO...Would certainly take a draw myself

got to be Martin Allen, who I think is brilliant so lucky them if they do get him
his Gillingham team were the biggest load of hoof-it/long-ball specialists in the league, even worse than the Sturrock SUFC...glad they/he got their comeuppance!

Think we could cop a heavy defeat tomo. No Leonard or Hurst be a big miss and we were fortunate on Saturday. Pretty obvious that Whittingham was out of depth in management surprised he lasted so long. Players might be a bit more fired up.

It should not make the slightest difference - to our team. If we were going to go and beat Pompey under Guy Whittingham .. we now have to still go and beat Pompey. It changes nothing.

They've just named Andy Awford (Head of Portsmouth's Academy) as caretaker boss to be assisted by Alan McLoughlin and David Connolly.

Interestingly, as an aside, Whittingham tried to appoint Awford as his number 2 back in April but Awford turned it down, preferring to stay with the Academy.

But his Brentford team were pretty good, except when we took them apart.
